Throughout the world, products are exposed to a wide variety of extreme conditions. Typically, environmental tests accelerate extreme environmental conditions to evaluate the likelihood that the design may experience a loss of structural integrity, experience functionality issues, or develop any other undesirable effects. Standard testing employed by a number of industries including aerospace and automotive will usually include the following:
- Hot / Cold Thermal Cycle
- High Temperature Heat Age
- Dimensional Stability (with CMM or dimensional measurements)
- Simulated Sun Load (using Infrared lighting)
- Cold Impact
- Thermal Shock
- Corrosion
- Dust Exposure
- Xenon Exposure
These tests can also be conducted in conjunction with any test specification for Life Cycle, Durability, Vibration, Structural performance, and Airbag Deployment.
MGA’s laboratories have a wide range of state-of-the-art chambers to simulate virtually any environmental extreme:
- 4 Drive in chambers with humidity capability
- 7 Walk-in chambers with humidity capability
- 5 Reach-in chambers with humidity capability
- 1 Salt chamber
- 1 Dust chamber
- 1 Xenon chamber
- 1 Altitude chamber
MGA runs environmental tests 24/7 all year long. In addition, the staff at MGA is well recognized in a number of industries including automotive and aerospace, and is well versed in both OEM and Supplier procedures. From a timing perspective, the staff at MGA is well suited to meet challenging test schedules, and welcomes the opportunity to handle both small and large projects.
