TEST METHODOLOGY DEVELOPMENT

The method with which a test is conducted can have a significant impact on the quality of the result, and also a direct impact on the efficiency with which the testing can be conducted. Often, regulations and technical standards give clear guidance on how to perform specific tests. Research activities, new product developments, field issues, changes to the industry, and new regulations often require new test methods to be developed. MGA?s experience with many industries and with multiple types of testing allows us to offer our expertise to our customers when it comes time to develop new tests.

Services

MGA's talented staff of professionals is ready to support our customers with whatever level of assistance is required. We can provide Test Method Development Services in conjunction with testing you may wish to perform at MGA. We can also provide them through a consultation role, to help bring new testing online in your internal lab. MGA can also bring our experience to your internal lab to help upgrade existing tests to increase efficiency, turnaround time, quality, or improve data processing and test report automation.

Experience

MGA has developed test methods currently used or accepted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Federal Aviation Administration for determining compliance with specific Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and Federal Aviation Regulations.

Key Factors

Many factors play a significant role in the outcome of a test. Some of the many factors we consider when developing a test include:
  • Test purpose
  • Related methods and standards
  • Definition of constraints, variables, and measurables
  • Real world usage and conditions
  • Determining test instrumentation
  • Test sample preparation
  • Photographic documentation (high speed video etc.,)
  • Data collection
  • Data analysis and processing
  • Automated report generation
  • Testing efficiency

The MGA Advantage

One of the main advantages we have with developing test methods is that we actually performing testing in an independent testing laboratory. Our experts have working knowledge of what it takes to perform testing both efficiently and accurately. We understand the process of testing, the key factors that affect experimental uncertainty, and the importance of minimizing the time it takes to process a test into a report.
