As an equipment and test services leader, MGA has always been well-positioned to address new and challenging issues. Examples include new safety regulations, the development of custom equipment for new applications, and investments in new labs in regions to support our customers' goals.
Over the past decade, a continued and growing focus across various sectors has been environmental testing at extreme temperature across automotive, aerospace, and defense markets. MGA has taken several steps to build a skilled team to meet these challenges, drawing on lab experience, chamber expertise, and an internal equipment-building capability.
Environmental Chamber Equipment & Chamber Box Assemblies

Various extreme-temperature capabilities are available across the entire MGA laboratory network. Much of our capacity has been upgraded with new controller and chamber boxes to ensure performance, reliability, and consistency across locations.
The controller upgrades are designed to deliver a best-in-class solution recognized by the industry, with a goal of commonality across all labs. Regarding the boxes, MGA has developed a strong team capable of designing, fabricating, and commissioning chamber box assemblies, including both panelized and steel enclosures for virtually any application.
These chamber box solutions support a wide range of test configurations and temperature environments, enabling MGA to service both internal testing needs and customer-owned chambers requiring replacement or upgrades.

Chamber Maintenance, Repair, and Box Replacement Services

MGA maintains a dedicated team specializing in environmental chamber maintenance, repair, and chamber box replacement. This team supports chambers within MGA’s laboratories as well as customer facilities.
A comprehensive approach to chamber maintenance has been developed and is used to:
- Maintain consistent chamber performance
- Extend equipment life
- Reduce unplanned downtime
- Prevent costly future repairs
Skilled technicians are located throughout the MGA laboratory network, allowing for responsive support and efficient project execution when chamber box replacement or refurbishment is required.
Custom Environmental Testing Applications
When working with our customers, we frequently encounter situations where there are no available solutions for evaluating their products under certain conditions. When these situations arise, MGA leans into our culture of helping customers achieve their goals.
Because MGA designs and builds the equipment used in its own laboratories, our teams operate within a continuous feedback loop of testing, improvement, and best practices. Recent examples include:
Large Delivery Vehicles

As delivery vehicles have become larger and taller, the ability to evaluate common features such as door slam, roll-up door, and other attributes has been limited by the size of extreme-temperature chambers.
For this application, MGA built a series of extremely large chambers to accommodate both the vehicle and the test application. The size of these chambers are 27' L x 17' W x 10' H, with a temperature range of -40C to 120C with 0-95%RH humidity capabilities. The design was developed with consideration of the vehicle size, the particular test, and the related equipment, which can include door slam apparatus, robots, or other related items.
Space Simulation

MGA has supported the space industry for 40 years with state-of-the-art pyroshock solutions, including testing services and equipment. As the space industry has rapidly evolved over the past few years, the ability to subject components to high shocks at the extremely low temperatures they will encounter in space has become vital to many companies.
Recently, the Thermal Pyroshock Chamber (TPC), compatible with MGA’s pyroshock capabilities, was developed to impact components in an ultra-low (-100 degrees C) environment.
MGA’s Environmental Chamber Capacity

Currently, MGA maintains a fleet of over 200+ chambers throughout the laboratory network. These include:
- Reach-In Chambers: Benchtop to 16 cubic feet with -40 Deg C to 160 Deg C with Humidity
- Thermal Shock: Capable of 72 °C, then -40 °C with a 30-minute changeover time between temperatures
- AGREE/Shaker: Smallest size at 54”x54”x48” to the largest at 96”x96”x96”. The temperature range is from -50°C to 150°C, with ramp rates up to 5°C per minute.
- MAST: Size of the systems consists of both 5’ x 7’ and 6’ x 8’ tables with 6 DOF
- Walk-In: ~10’x10’x10’ with temperature ranges from -50°C to 150°C
- Drive-In: ~30’x15’10’ with temperature ranges from -50°C to 150°C
- Mega/Truck: 27' L x 17' W x 10' H with a temperature ranges from -40C to 120C and 0-95%RH humidity capabilities
