Year Round Testing

A combination of MGA’s proving grounds and partner test tracks around the country allow flexibility for our customers for year round operations.

What is ADAS?

As vehicles continue to advance toward higher levels of automation, both manufacturers and regulators are placing greater emphasis on reducing crash severity and preventing collisions altogether. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are central to achieving these goals, helping vehicles anticipate and avoid potential hazards. Technologies such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) enable OEMs to build vehicles that actively support drivers in avoiding crashes.

MGA’s ADAS Solutions

MGA offers test solutions utilizing the most modern and advanced equipment to support from early development and research through to IIHS and NHTSA testing validation. Testing takes place at a multitude of both MGA and partner proving ground facilities across the US, allowing convenience for customers around the country for year-round testing.

Global ADAS Standards and Test Capabilities

MGA is actively expanding our ADAS test capability to support development to global standards. Below are various test modes from global protocols:

Applications Across Automotive & Mobility Sectors

ADAS testing spans multiple automotive sectors, reflecting the different operating environments, risks, and regulatory expectations of each. Most global regulations and consumer protocols are currently focused on passenger vehicles, the largest sector. In passenger vehicles, ADAS testing focuses on camera, radar, and lidar performance in combination with the vehicle alert, braking, and steering systems to alert and avoid crashes.

Commercial vehicles and trucks emphasize heavy-vehicle braking, forward collision warning with larger targets, blind-spot and turn-assist systems, and robust performance under higher mass and longer stopping distances.

Motorcycles present unique challenges, driving ADAS test applications around rider detection, vehicle-to-motorcycle sensing, and warning-based systems rather than full automation.

In off-highway, agricultural, and construction equipment, ADAS testing shifts toward obstacle detection, pedestrian proximity, and low-speed automation in unstructured environments. Across all sectors, ADAS testing validates sensor accuracy, system timing, and functional safety under controlled proving-ground, sled, and track-based scenarios to ensure reliable performance in real-world conditions.
