Large Pyroshock Table

Resonant beam-style MIPS shock test system designed for large test articles and assemblies. Includes multiple adjustable parameters, allowing for a wide degree of tunability while delivering consistent SRS results.

Pyroshock testing simulates pyrotechnic events such as liftoff, booster separation, and stage separation for space and defense components.  MGA provides a fully customizable test solution, designed to meet the most demanding industry standards.  Leveraging our proven impact technology from the automotive sector, we have developed a state-of-the-art resonant beam style MIPS shock test system.  This system offers over 10 variables that can be adjusted to tune an array of SRS profiles with exceptional repeatability.  With dozens of systems in operation, MGA’s pyroshock test systems have become the trusted choice for U.S. government agencies, leading defense contractors, and commercial space companies.

Our Large Pyroshock Table incorporates a variety of elements designed specifically so that pyroshock testing can be performed on a wide range of test articles. Starting from the top, multiple resonant beam sizes are included, allowing for small and large components, as well as full assemblies, to be mounted directly to the system. Down below, the T-slot floor provides a configurable workspace for mounting up to three propulsion cannons, creating infinite adjustability for both the position and energy level of the shock input.

MGA is now offering our Gen II package for our Large Table. This upgrades bring the same tunability and repeatability as our Gen I Large PyroshockTable with more ease-of-use and safety features! New Large Pyroshock Table purchases will include these updates as standard and retrofit kits can be purchased for existing customers of MGA's Gen I tables.

With new features, MGA’s Gen II Large Pyroshock Table is safer and easier to operate.  Instead of loading pucks into the cannons by hand, the Gen II comes with a jib crane to lift cannons from the ground up onto the T-slot floor and lift picks into the cannons. Similarly, the updates also include a remote-controlled robot that cannons can be mounted to so that the cannon can be positioned under the beam without risking hand injuries or requiring the operator to crawl under the beam to position the cannons.
